so much ranting..

I’ve been thinking about this post for a long time and now I’m finally going to write it, this rant is going to be a rant so long that I might just have to call Guinness….

 

Campus Pet Peeves:

• People who get on the elevator on the first floor and get off at the 2^nd, 3^rd or 4^th floor.
• People who leave their iPod’s blasting music while on the elevator.
• People who talk on their cell phones while on the elevator.
• People who get to the front of the line at taco bell / burger king/ any other place in the food court who don’t know what they are going to order. I mean come on people it’s the same thing every day.

 

Bluetooth:

        Now I own one of those Bluetooth dongle things for your ears but there is no reason to walk around campus with one of those things in your ears. They are meant as hands free devices so that when you’re doing something with your hands you use them not when you’re just walking around.  I mean come on just hold the phone up to your face, you don’t need to walk around with the thing pinned to your ear. The only time I ever use mine is if I’m driving and someone needs to talk to me, or if I’m talking to someone in customer service and I plan to be on the phone for an unnecessarily long amount of time.

 

Wikipedia:

        I love wikipedia, I use it all the time; however I find it appalling that professors use it as a source for teaching. While wikipedia is an OK source for an overview it’s not a viable source for teaching. This week I had an English professor who suggested we use the site which is technically in violation of the universities plagiarism view because the content on the site is usually not cited.
